November 19, 2025
Press Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-PA) and Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), co-chairs of the bipartisan House Career and Technical Education Caucus, today introduced a resolution recognizing November as National Career Development Month.
National Career Development Month marks an important time for our students and workers of all ages to consider and explore future career opportunities. It is also a time to recognize the professionals who guide learners to become the leaders of tomorrow. Throughout the month, schools and businesses will have the chance to showcase different career paths that align with various interests and skills. These opportunities will better prepare students as they begin to enter the workforce.
“National Career Development Month raises awareness about the opportunities that exist and highlights the importance of planning for your professional future,” Rep. Thompson said. “A highly skilled workforce gives businesses a competitive edge. I hope students and adult-learners take advantage of career development assistance in helping them find a fulfilling career path.”
“Career development professionals play an important role in connecting students and job-seekers with a path to success,” Rep. Bonamici said. “I am pleased to co-lead this resolution with my CTE Caucus Co-Chair, Rep. Glenn “GT” Thompson, to recognize the work of career development professionals and the essential role they play in identifying career goals, providing guidance, and creating action plans for the people they serve.”
“NCDA is proud to celebrate November as National Career Development Month. Career development professionals play a critical role in inspiring meaningful career pathways and empowering individuals of all ages. Their expertise strengthens the nation’s workforce and supports the economic health and well-being of workers across the United States. We look forward to continuing to advance career development opportunities for all Americans.” – Deneen Pennington, Executive Director, National Career Development Association
